Transplant peas seedlings2/18/2024 Thankfully, they only do minimal damage, so not much to worry about. ![]() If the peas are growing away nicely and you spot u shaped notches around the edges of the leaves, that’ll be the pea and bean weevil. Slugs and snails will also go for the young plants, so again starting them off indoors should avoid this problem. Once your peas are through the ground, pigeons will seize their chance, so pre-empting their emergence with twiggy pea sticks or netting should make it a less comfortable prospect. When planting outside, sow extra for the mice and have some rootrainers ready to fill in any gaps in the row. Plastic underbed storage boxes are just the right size for the gutters put paid to their fun. Starting your peas off indoors will help avoid that - although mice have been known to find the gutters in the polytunnel and have themselves a banquet. The first are mice, who see that round parcel of protein and starch as an ideal early spring meal. There are a few creatures that might want to have a share of your pea crop. Using a trowel, dig a deep hole the same depth as the rootrainer and slide the plant in, fill in the hole with surrounding soil and water in well. Rootrainers are designed to be opened up exposing the whole root, which should have reached the base of the rootrainer. Once you have the knack they will hardly notice the change and grow away as if nothing has happened. Carefully slide the seedlings, soil and all into their new home and water in well. Make an indentation in your prepared soil outside using an empty piece of gutter, water the bottom of the indentation and let it drain away. Once your pea seedlings have four leaves and are looking sturdy enough to face the outside world, harden them off for a few days by keeping them inside at night and outside during the day. Put the guttering in the greenhouse or on an indoor windowsill and watch the seed germinate in around 10 days’ time. Fill with peat free compost almost up to the top of the gutter, water lightly, then pop the seeds individually at about 4cm spacing, zigzagged down the gutter. Use a length of plastic guttering that you can handle easily. Peas dislike root disturbance, so if you are sowing indoors to get an early start, then use either rootrainers (one pea per section) or use the gutter technique. You might need to add twiggy pea sticks between your canes as peas can be planted closer together than beans. If you are growing the tall climbing varieties, they can follow on the year after runner beans to make use of the fertile trench and the structure if it is strong enough. ![]() ![]() Peas like a fairly rich moist soil, so you will need to incorporate plenty of organic matter to get a good crop.

![]() Have a medium-large size kitchen and don’t mind your appliance utilizing a little extra space? Full size all the way. Got a small kitchen and not many mouths to feed? Go for the Artisan Mini. The KitchenAid Artisan Mini Stand Mixer is a powerful kitchen tool that packs the same punch as its larger counterpart – its primary benefit really is the smaller size. KitchenAid Artisan product specs: Size: H36 x W24 x D37 Bowl capacity: 4.8 litres Speeds: Six Colours available: Well over 30 Cleaning: Bowls and attachments are machine washable What’s in the box My KitchenAid Artisan sample arrived as a deluxe pack, meaning it came with a regular 4. Given this, it really doesn’t make sense to get the Mini size if you’re only trying to save money rather than save space. The KitchenAid Artisan Mini is honestly not that much cheaper than the classic size – realistically between $50-$100 less expensive. Here is my honest review of the really cool KitchenAid Artisan Series 5 Quart Stand Mixer. Is the KitchenAid Mini Stand Mixer worth it or should I just get the full size? They also mention that there is no staining or residues. If you’ve got a smaller kitchen or apartment – the Artisan Mini is amazing because you still get a powerful mixer, but at a reduced footprint. They say that it is easy to use and clean, and the attachments and the 5 quart bowl are dishwasher safe. The KitchenAid Artisan Mini really is ideal for smaller size families who do not need to bake in larger batches. Who should choose the Mini stand mixer instead of the classic size? Pasta dough truly has been my only “problem” recipe my KitchenAid Artisan Mini struggled with. That being said – we got through it and the dough came out just fine. The Mini size really struggled with the quantity of the dough (I utilized a pretty standard size recipe – no unreasonably sized batches) and I was pretty concerned the dough would just fly out the top of the bowl. Many KitchenAid Artisan’s struggle with a “walking” motion when utilizing the dough hook to knead doughs, and my Mini absolutely began to “walk” when kneading pasta dough. Transparently there is one recipe that my KitchenAid Artisan Mini struggles with… It includes a wide array of features that will accommodate any baking needs. Made by KitchenAid, a leader in kitchen equipment and utilities, this appliance will surely make your kitchen experience an enjoyable one. ![]() Does the KitchenAid Mini Stand Mixer struggle to mix anything specific? Baking is now extremely easy with the help of KitchenAid KSM150PSWH Artisan Series 5-Qt. I’m able to whip up multiple tiered cakes, tart dough, fillings, etc with no problem. The KitchenAid Artisan Mini boasts being able to make five dozen cookies – which is at least 3 dozen more than my household needs at any given time. What can you make using the Mini version of the stand mixer?Īfter using my Artisan Mini for over a month, I can confidently say the average amateur home baker can make just about anything in the Mini compared to the classic. The Mini tends to run somewhere in the realm of $50-$100 cheaper than the classic size. Pricing for both the Mini and the classic Artisan mixers will vary depending on the retailer you purchase from, the time of year (these mixers DO go on sale seasonally!), as well as the color you choose (some colors are limited and thus more expensive). Considering the classic mixer rings in at a whopping 25 pounds – this size and weight reduction is no small difference. The Mini Artisan Stand Mixer is also 20% smaller and 25% lighter than the classic size. The Mini mixer has a 3.5qt bowl vs the classic 5qt. Others have said that it's both "easy to use" and "powerful," making quick work of even sticky dough and batter recipes. The key differences in the Mini version of KitchenAid’s Artisan Stand Mixer vs its classic size сome down to the size of the bowl, the footprint of the mixer itself, and the weight of the machine. One shopper shared that this mixer has been "robust, reliable and necessary" - especially if you're someone who bakes at home often. Reviewers have called this KitchenAid appliance the "Ferrari of mixers," since it's synonymous with luxury performance in the kitchen. Having earned a 4.7-star from thousands of Amazon shoppers, it’s safe to say that this mixer is fan-favourite. Its tilt-head design makes it easy to add ingredients, plus it comes with a flat beater, dough hook and whisk to tackle all of your recipes with ease. These durable and timeless kitchen appliances do everything from whisking eggs and mixing batter to kneading dough, along with making pasta, grinding meats and peeling vegetables - so long as you’ve got the right attachments.īoasting 10 different speeds and a large stainless steel mixing bowl, this stand mixer can mix dough for nine dozen cookies in a single batch. The KitchenAid Artisan Tilt-Head Stand Mixer is pretty much the holy grail of baking appliances, making it a worthy investment if you’re able to splurge right now.

Will compton college2/18/2024 ![]() It’s just getting guys there because the middle of (nowhere) … But, Nebraska will be back. Nebraska has all the resources in the world and the right people the right amount of money to be successful. He chose to go to the University of Nebraska over Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and others. A first-team all-state selection, Compton was listed as one of the top five players entering college from Missouri high schools. ![]() I think he’s got a lot of good guys on his staff that are good football coaches, guys that can relate to the players. As a football player for North County High School, Compton played linebacker and wide receiver. His interview (with us on Bussin’ with the Boys) was incredible. We’re going to hit a bowl game this year. “But yeah, I think Nebraska will be back as early as this year. I think it’s nice to reminisce about and the legacy of it, but it’s good to look back and see where we were (but) now, we just got to get the squad back to when Bo Pelini was there and when we’re winning (expletive) nine, 10 games a year. Made the All-State and All-Conference teams each of his four years while swimming at Portage Northern High School in Michigan. “Coach Rhule, he’s going to get this thing turned around. Those costs, along with the recent dismantling of affirmative action in college admissions, leave many students looking for other options. Classes began on the new campus in fall 1956. Construction of the new college campus was completed on the present site. In 1950, voters approved a bond issue separating the college from the high school district. “Come on, what are we talking about,” Compton said on Next Up with Adam Breneman according to On3. The Compton Community College District (CCCD) was established in 1927 as a component of the Compton Union High School District.

Noita stevari2/18/2024 ![]() For a goal state to be reached the player needs to make a valid, locally optimal sequence of moves. Often there's a goal condition and Noita is no different. All else was tangential.Ī "game" consists of a structured, well defined rule set within which the players maneouvre themselves. The developers had the know-how how to make a marvelous piece of tech like this, and wanted to turn it into a game. The latter it pretends to be at times, but I'm almost certain Noita just uses it as an excuse to exist. In fact, it is so bad it's almost satire. It demands you figure shit out yourself, rather than conveying some kind of sensible rule space.įrom all games that I recall playing, which must be thousands by now, Noita is one of the worst designs I've ever come across. Noita is a game created by programmers, for programmers it demands you break the game. But as programmers, as creators - not as game designers. it's pretty incredible and comfortably secures Nolla games a place in the realm of god-like game developers for years to come. The physics, fluid dynamics, ragdolls, real-time destructible terrain the size of a huge map. ![]() Noita is one of those games indie developers can only dream of achieving being incredibly well made from a technical point of view. Granted, it does take half an hour to an hour to do the above, which sucks if you get unlucky and die to something shortly thereafter.Title got you riled up? Good, because contrary to what it would have you believe I do not think Noita is a bad experience or product, in fact - not at all. it makes everything that follows MUCH easier without being game breaking. Having done the above you start with a good wand that can one-shot most starting enemies, higher max HP and the ability to dig through any material in the game (earth stone + evil eye). (several minutes)ġ1) Earth stone away the eastern wall of the submerged tank.ġ2) Throw one of the tablets you've got at this point to create a portal in the Hut above the tank.ġ3) Portal into the tank, then immediately run out the east side to avoid the spawned enemy.ġ5) Drop back into the tank and grab the Experimental Wand plus the other valuables.ġ6) Make your way back to the starting location and play as you would a normal game. Take Perk.Ħ) Carefully travel back to the desert essence eater and remove the Perk for earth stone.ħ) Travel back over the mountain and use your new Quake Kick to damage the tree enough to get over it.ġ0) Use the evil eye to boil away the upper portion of the Lake until the eastern side of the submerged tank is exposed. Store tablet in mine entrance for later.Ĥ) Journey over moutain to eastern desert, grab stuff on Pyramid.ĥ) Keep heading east until ?, dig out the perk with the explosives. ![]() AFAIK the trigger for spawning Skoude is killing 3 Stevari, so if you can avoid killing them, you can in principle go on as usual.Ģ) Use explosive to get on top of mountain.ģ) Grab stuff above mountain. That means you won't face a Skoude until very late in the game where you'll definitely have a way to win.Īlso: I guess it would be possible to lure the Stevari out of the HM so you don't have to kill him. If you're not so unlucky the gods are angered for you, you can also just wait until the 4th HM or so to actually start breaking stuff. because a worm dug into the HM) you have 3 HMs (and thus, 4 areas) to prepare usually that's enough to get something that can take down even a tough enemy like Skoude quick enough to survive (if not, you'll be having a tough time with the regular enemies at that point anyway) Even if you're forced to face a Stevari on the first HM (e.g. If that doesn't pan out, the next go to becomes finding a way to defeat Skoude. Any Teleporter Bolt, Teleportatium, Polymorphine or any trigger spell with Return on it works. Finding a way to exit HMs without angering the gods is the first go-to. Yeah, you'll probably want to wait a few HMs before breaking the walls.

Storm riders english dubbed2/17/2024 Seen 13 April 2021 in Jay's Living Room (off the shelf, Hong Kong Blu-ray)Įven without watching its 2009 sequel for comparison, The Storm Riders has a throwback air to it, like the Hong Kong film industry long defined by knowing how to squeeze a lot out of what they had for a one-city market was playing a bit of catch-up before advances in technology and a drastic increase in their potential audience changed everything. I don't know that there's a lot of pent-up demand for this stuff in English - most of the potential audience knows Cantonese and either lives in Hong Kong or has folks there to mail it to them - but it seems like an interesting thing to have on Comixology.įung wan: Hung ba tin ha ( The Storm Riders) I'd love to see some more Hong Kong films based on their comics, though, and more translations of those comics into English (a number by Storm Riders creator Ma Wing Shing were published by ComicsOne, but they've been defunct since 2005. There have been occasional rumors of a third movie, maybe by the Pangs again, but I don't know if Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng are up for that. It's probably totally fair in Hong Kong, and I never actually felt lost. ![]() They both feel like movies where the audience is expected to know what they're in for, but in different ways - Riders feels like it's covering a lot of issues but working its way through the origin, while Warriors just picks up like it's in the middle of a TV series and the audience just needs a slight refresh. There's not exactly strong continuity between them, but it's odd that they retain the same two leads rather than relaunching when so much else is different. I'm glad I did the double feature, though, because it shows what a difference ten years made at this particular point in movie history, and the way the filmmakers handled it.īecause while ten years is a lot of time at the turn of the century - the difference between everything being shot on 35mm and digitally, but it's a stark difference in style, as Andrew Lau Wai-Keung is pretty traditional - for something released in 1998, it feels like something from ten years earlier - while the Pang Brothers dive into building a whole world digitally, with the hyper-detailed armor you see in more current mainland productions. A bit longer than I expected - I read the 86 minutes of special features as the length of the movie, but it's actually 25 minutes longer - but it's not like I had to catch a bus the next morning. Still, I had to take this picture quickly, because there were a bunch of folks who wanted to pose with the antihero.Īnyway, I remembered that when I saw both of these movies in the "cheap sale" section at DDDHouse, picked them up, and picked them up for a double feature last week. ![]() I stumbled upon this statue of Cloud while walking around Golden Bauhinia Square, maybe the same day I was looking for Comix Home Base, and as much as I was intrigued by the fact that it was one of thirty-six statues… Well, like I mentioned above, my phone wasn't doing that great with the internet that day, so I didn't find the map to follow.

Compton scattering in x ray2/17/2024 ![]() That was the first time Compton considered the possibility of simultaneous scattering and emission events. Perhaps, he hypothesized, the polarization could be maintained if the secondary emission were to occur at the same instant an electron scattered the primary emission. But truly scattered light should not change its energy. Then, in collaboration with Charles Hagenow, Compton found that the fluorescent radiation was completely polarized: a result that could be naturally explained as scattered light. Now Compton was able to show for certain that, contrary to two other contemporaneous findings, 4 the longer wavelength fluorescent radiation he had first seen in gamma rays persisted in x-ray scattering. 4 But with a 5 pm radius, his proposed spherical electron was still enormous! “Problems to be tackled at Saint Louis” Interestingly, Compton still relied on diffraction to account for the angular distribution, although his results forced him to abandon the ring-shaped electron in favor of a solid, spherical model. In contrast, Compton ascribed the longer-wavelength fluorescent radiation to Doppler-shifted emission from high-velocity electrons set in motion by the primary beam. As required by classical electromagnetism, truly scattered rays had the same wavelength as the primary beam. ![]() Compton deemed that effect a new type of fluorescence: Guided by a strong classical intuition, he had begun to delineate the secondary rays into “truly scattered” and fluorescent radiation. ![]() He soon found that the energy of secondary rays decreased unexpectedly when scattered to higher angles. Replacing Rutherford’s venerable gold-leaf electroscope with his own four-quadrant design, Compton proceeded to study gamma-ray scattering.

Pt session2/17/2024 ![]() Take time to explain to your prospect the flow of how the first session will unfold. The first session is an information-gathering session. Make proper eye contact and use a firm handshake.Have all your “equipment” ready – clipboard, paperwork, assessment equipment.Be lively, bright, and energetic from the beginning. ![]() ![]() WOW the client with your professionalism and enthusiasm.Still, it is a lot to expect this to happen in the first meeting with a new prospective client. This might happen, but only if time permits and if there are no limitations requiring clearance. It might be wise to explain the process to new clients, who tend to arrive with the intention of exercising during the first meeting. The main focus of the appointment is to determine their GOALS and the MOTIVES behind their goals. Both the trainer and the client will receive valuable information vital to achieving results. Look at the appointment as an INFORMATION GATHERING SESSION. This should be the focus of the first session, finding the motives behind the client’s goal (what they NEED – this is found by asking detailed questions) and connecting them to the BENEFITS of YOU (telling the client how you will fulfill those needs). People don’t buy features they buy the benefits that those features give to them. Ineffective: (most common) Focusing on goals (wants) and featuresĮffective: Focusing on motives (needs) and connecting them to benefits You need to be able to find out detailed goals to “paint the picture ” of your ability to fulfill their needs. It is better to find out the motives behind their goals – what being “toned up” will do to benefit their life. Go beyond “tone up” to the measurable description of what “tone up” will look like for the client. Many trainers will accept “tone-up” as a goal and move on to the next question. They contribute to the performance and the well-being of the client thus we have to know more about them and keep them operating in the background of our mindset or approach if we are to make proper use of their application. You will also want to ask questions about stress management skills, the level of intensity tied to their concentration, or even the approach used for setting challenging – but at the same time – realistic goals – these are all psychological characteristics.įor most clients, these can be learned and developed. A new client will sit across during the initial assessment and when asked about their goals will answer superficially (no details that really tell the story). Much of the time, less successful trainers will only cover goals superficially. You are NOT equal teammates, you are the fitness professional and the TEAM CAPTAIN!!! The trainer is the captain of the team and is in charge, teaching the basics from a position of authority. You’ve already done the health screening, fitness assessments, and all the other pre-workout rituals. Remember! Getting your client to their goals is a team effort – you and your client.

![]() For instance, from zone 4 to 7 these plants are grown as annuals so for a summer blooming experience they need to be planted in the spring. ![]() The right time to start your buttercup cultivation differs based on the USDA zone your region belongs to. These plants reach up to a height around 30 cm (12 inches) and they bloom from June to October. Lesser spearworts can be found in wet places that are close to rivers, lakes and ponds and as well as in freshwater meadows and marshes. They have a tall, upright growth and are great for ponds in your garden. Water Buttercups (Ranunculus lingua)Ĭommonly called “Greater Spearwort”, these buttercups grow in water and have big flowers which are known to be the largest in their plant family. They’re small plants that prefer to thrive in sheltered and cool spots. Goldilocks Buttercups (Ranunculus auricomis)Īlso known as “Wood Crowfoot” or “Greenland Buttercups”, these plants generate flowers with imperfect petals that differ in size and shape from each other. They also have swollen fibrous roots that are similar to bulbous buttercups but a little bit less obvious in size. These plants have furry stems full of minuscule hairs and are mostly found in wet or wastelands. They can even tolerate being stomped on which makes them perfect to grow on pathways as ground covers. Creeping Buttercups (Ranunculus repens)Ĭreeping buttercups are resilient weeds, which means they need very little care and maintenance. ![]() These roots have the ability to survive through the winter and start to grow back in the spring after the frost has passed. Bulbous Buttercups (Ranunculus bulbosus)īulbous buttercups were named so due to their thick, bulb-like roots that go deep in the ground. These plants grow up to a height of around 1 M (3 feet) and produce flowers mostly from April to October. This is the most common type of buttercups you can find in parks, grasslands, and gardens around you. However, some varieties are used in traditional Asian medicine to treat fever, redness of skin, and rheumatism. Most species of buttercups are toxic to humans and animals when consumed. Some of these colors include white, red, orange, pink, and purple. However, over time, many other new colors have been introduced through breeding and hybridization. Naturally, buttercups only produce flowers in shades of yellow. While most of them are perennials, some can be grown as annuals or biennials as well. Buttercups, (“Ranunculus”), are a widely diverse species that consists of around 600 varieties. |
